SOAPP: 24-questions Form & Scoring
- SOAPP V.1.0 is a brief paper and pencil patient self-assessment
- Includes 24 questions, 14 of which are used to score the tool
- Takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is simple to score
- Simply add up the ratings for each of the 14 "screening" questions
- The 24Q SOAPP uses a cutoff score of 7. A score of 7 or above indicates an increased RISK of abuse, and the patient may require additional precautions and/or monitoring if treated with long-term opioid therapy
- Ideal for documenting decisions about the level of monitoring planned for a particular patient or justifying referrals to a specialty pain clinic
- The 10 "unscored" questions provide clinicians with additional background information on their patient
- Sensitivity = 0.91 and specificity = 0.69
